Sports Mole looks at Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the La Liga clash with Sevilla.
Sports Mole

Real Madrid will be bidding to end a very successful 2024 on a positive note when they host Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday afternoon.

Los Blancos will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 victory over Pachuca in the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, with the trophy being secured courtesy of goals from Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were held to a 3-3 draw by Rayo Vallecano in the league last time out, though, and they are currently third in the La Liga table, one point behind leaders Barcelona with a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Sevilla, who are currently 11th in Spain's top flight.

Jude Bellingham

Vinicius blow, Bellingham concern: Real Madrid injury news vs. Sevilla

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 22 (vs. Sevilla)

Bellingham will need to be assessed ahead of his match, as the England international was spotted limping after the full-time whistle against Pachuca, and it has been claimed that he suffered a slight thigh issue in the final.

Vinicius blow, Bellingham concern: Real Madrid injury news vs. Sevilla

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee

Real Madrid will be without the services of Carvajal for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign due to the severe knee injury that the right-back suffered in the clash with Villarreal on October 5.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 9 (vs. Mallorca)

Alaba suffered an ACL injury last December, which has required two operations to fix; the defender has made progress in his recovery, though, and he is expected to be back on the field at the start of 2025.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be without the services of Militao for the remainder of the campaign, as the Brazilian centre-back damaged his ACL during the clash with Osasuna before the international break.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Valencia)

Mendy suffered a muscular problem during the recent clash with Girona, and the France international is not expected to be back on the field until the early stages of January.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Vinicius Junior

Status: Out
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Valencia)

Real Madrid will be missing Vinicius for their final match of 2024, with the Brazilian picking up a milestone yellow card after coming off the bench against Rayo in the league last time out.
