England captain Steven Gerrard has welcomed midfielder Michael Carrick back to the national team.
Carrick had ruled himself out of any commitment to the Three Lions in January this year, but after a discussion with coach Roy Hodgson has been recalled back into the fold.
"Michael is a quality player, I've played with him in a few England games," said Gerrard.
"It's great to have him back available. He'll certainly make the team and the squad stronger."
England will take on Moldova away from home in their first 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.
