Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has insisted that the most concerning thing about England manager Roy Hodgson's alleged reference to a joke about a monkey in space is that there is someone in the camp revealing such comments to the press.
Barton said that whatever is said in the dressing room should stay there and that the comments being out in the open can only damage the England camp.
"I'm more worried about the player that leaked it to the journalist," Barton said on Twitter. "To have a snake in the camp, is more worrying.
"What goes on behind closed doors should stay there IMO. Especially with crap like this. How does that (non)story help anyone?"
Barton has been capped once by the Three Lions.
