England Under-21s manager Stuart Pearce has confirmed that the Football Association have reported their Serbian counterparts to UEFA.
Full-back Danny Rose was subject to monkey chants during the encounter, before he clashed with Serbian supporters while England celebrated their winning goal in stoppage time.
Rose was eventually dismissed by the match official for his reaction, which in turn sparked clashes between both sets of players.
Discussing the incident after his side's 1-0 win, Pearce insisted that England will now leave the incident to the governing body.
"I think there were one or two racist incidents from the crowd and we have reported them to UEFA. They will have to deal with that. I am proud of my players and the staff," he told ESPN.
"It was very sad, but we're united as a team and as a staff. A lot if happening in our country regarding stamping out racism.
"It's just a shame this was soured in the last few minutes of the second leg of the tie. We'll let the authorities deal with this."
