Leighton Baines has conceded that England are unsure what to expect from Poland during Tuesday evening's World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

A victory for the home side would see them secure their spot at next year's tournament in Brazil, while following their 1-0 defeat to Ukraine last time out, the Poles have very little to play for.

"You are not sure now that Poland are out of the equation how they will approach the game," he told reporters. "It's impossible to predict what it will do to them - maybe they will relax.

"They've got some big players but we know that if we are at our best, we are capable of getting the right result.

"The magnitude of the game is something we are aware of. The job is half done so we have to finish it off on Tuesday."

Baines has been heavily tipped to start the encounter, particularly after it was confirmed that fellow left-back Ashley Cole would miss out with a rib complaint.
