Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand will play no part in tomorrow's England 2014 World Cup qualifier against San Marino after pulling out with a sore throat.
The 23-year-old was originally tipped to take Ashley Cole's place in Roy Hodgson's team for the clash at Wembley tomorrow after receiving a late call-up to the squad alongside Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
Bertrand missed training on Tuesday and it has since been confirmed that the defender has returned to Stamford Bridge and will go back to the England set-up on Sunday ahead of the Three Lions' qualifier against Poland next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Blues midfielder Frank Lampard has also withdrawn from the squad due to a knee injury.
