England midfielder Tom Cleverley has declared that tomorrow night's friendly with Scotland will represent an important, fierce test for his side.
Roy Hodgson's side meet the Scots at Wembley on Wednesday as part of their preparations for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.
Cleverley thinks that Gordon Strachan's Tartan Army will be fired up to face their neighbours for the first time since 2000, providing perfect preparation for a return to competitive action next month.
He told Sky Sports News: "It is an important friendly to have because we have two really important games next month.
"We will expect a tough test. We know some of the players from the Premier League and any England-Scotland game will be a fierce game. I don't think it will be a friendly anyway.
"It is a game we all want to win. There will be a great atmosphere there on Wednesday night. It is a perfect friendly warm-up game for our World Cup qualifiers next month."
The 24-year-old last played for England in March, with the Manchester United midfielder in contention for his 10th Three Lions cap.
