Jermain Defoe has said that he hopes to retain his place in England's starting XI when the Three Lions face Montenegro in Podgorica on Tuesday.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward scored two goals during Friday's 8-0 win over Group H minnows San Marino and he is now hungry for more.
He told Sky Sports News: "Have I helped my chances of playing Tuesday? As a forward you want to play and get your goals and I got my chances and managed to score two goals.
"I've always been the same, when you get given an opportunity, you've got to take it and grab it with both hands.
"I don't know what is happening on Tuesday - but if selected I'll be ready."
Defoe is yet to score for Spurs in 2013.
