Joe Hart hopeful of error-free tournament

England keeper Joe Hart is hopeful that he can avoid making a high-profile mistake at the World Cup, unlike two of his predecessors.

Joe Hart has expressed his confidence that he can avoid becoming the latest England keeper to make a high-profile error at the World Cup.

Two of Hart's predecessors, David Seaman and Robert Green, made crucial errors for the Three Lions in past tournaments, which cost them in their respective fixtures.

However, the 27-year-old is hopeful that he can keep to a high standard in Brazil.

Hart told reporters: "Stuff happens. You've got to be aware of that as a keeper. Incidents happen all the time. We try to move on and be positive. You know, Greeny made a fantastic save not long after that goal. And we ended up qualifying from the group, that was the main thing.

"You have to be positive and look forward. No one is going out there to make mistakes. The likelihood of it happening... you never know. You look to be positive.

"It's a great experience to be involved with England. I was really proud and honoured to be at that World Cup, the same as looking forward to this one."

England get their campaign underway against Italy on Saturday.
