Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Jack Butland will be given a rare chance to impress for England in their final World Cup qualifier against Lithuania.
The Stoke City ace has earned just five caps for the Three Lions since making his debut in 2012, when he became the nation's youngest goalkeeper at 19 years 158 days.
Having already seen his side book a place in next summer's finals, secured thanks to a 1-0 win over Slovenia, Southgate has taken the decision to hand Butland a starting spot for the clash in Vilnius on Sunday evening.
"He has been patient for his opportunity, his form has been good. It's a good opportunity for Jack," he told reporters. "We've got great competition for places. We've got good goalkeepers."
Joe Hart will drop down to the bench at the Vilnius LFF Stadium, where he will join Jordan Pickford and Fraser Forster.
