England manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Southampton striker Rickie Lambert will start in tomorrow evening's World Cup qualifier against Moldova.
The 31-year-old made his international debut last month during a friendly 3-2 victory over Scotland at Wembley, where he scored the winner with his first touch.
Following his successful debut, Lambert has been given the nod once again, but in a competitive setting, due to the absence of striker Daniel Sturridge, who has been ruled out with a thigh problem.
England, who are already missing Wayne Rooney, will also be without defender Steven Caulker, who turned his ankle in training.
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will also start for the Three Lions tomorrow.
England XI: Hart; Walker, Jagielka, Cahill, Cole; Gerrard, Wilshere, Lampard; Walcott, Lambert, Welbeck
