Poland scout: 'John Terry's absence for England is good for us'

Hubert Malowiejski says that John Terry's absence will help Poland against England in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Hubert Malowiejski believes that John Terry's absence in the England squad will give Poland a chance to win their 2014 World Cup qualifier in Warsaw on Tuesday.

The Chelsea central defender announced his retirement from international football in September, claiming that his position was made "untenable" by the FA.

"I don't know the whole John Terry story but for Poland it is better that he is not playing," said Malowiejski, who has studied England on behalf of Poland for Tuesday's clash.

"I know the case but I don't know the real reason. England can miss his mentality, that's a factor. He has quality of course, maybe more than [Joleon] Lescott or [Phil] Jagielka, but the main thing they miss without John Terry is mental [strength].

"They miss his fight, his passion and his example when things do not go well. He is an inspiration for the rest of the England players, he has rescued many situations. He defends bravely."

Poland are third in Group H with four points from two matches, while England are at the top with seven from three games.
