Former Bulgarian international Martin Petrov has returned to CSKA Sofia on a short-term contract.
The 34-year-old, who had been without a club since leaving Spanish outfit Espanyol at the end of last season, initially departed CSKA for Servette in 1998.
"I would like to thank CSKA's management and coach Stoycho Mladenov," Petrov told reporters at a press conference.
"Two weeks ago, I was ready to announce my retirement and I even said this to my wife."
Petrov has also played for Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers during an illustrious career.
