Everton have confirmed that Cuco Martina will be returning home with his teammates after leaving hospital following a heavy fall in the 3-0 defeat at Lyon.
In the 39th minute of Thursday's Europa League game in France, the 28-year-old landed awkwardly in a challenge with winger Maxwel Cornet.
Martina received around seven minutes of treatment from medical personnel, as well as being put in a neck brace, before being stretchered off the pitch.
Everton interim boss David Unsworth confirmed after the game that the Curacao international had been taken to hospital and had complained of pains in his neck.
However, the Toffees have now provided an update via a statement on their website which read: "Cuco Martina has been released from hospital and will travel back to Merseyside with the rest of the Everton squad on Thursday night.
"The defender underwent scans after landing awkwardly during an aerial challenge with Maxwel Cornet late in the first half of the Blues' Europa League fixture against Lyon."
Martina was making his ninth start for the Toffees since his summer move from Southampton.
