Everton have provided an injury update on Andros Townsend, confirming he will miss the remainder of this season.
The winger was replaced by Demarai Gray during the recent FA Cup quarter-final defeat against his former club Crystal Palace in the 16th minute after he suffered an injury.
"Andros Townsend will miss the rest of the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Sunday's game at Crystal Palace. We are with you every step of the way back," Everton have announced.
This will come as a blow to Frank Lampard and his squad, who are currently fighting in the relegation battle, sitting 17th in the Premier League table, just three points above the bottom three teams.
The 30-year-old midfielder has played 21 times in the top flight this season, scoring three times in the process for the Toffees.
Everton will be back in action after the international break where they will face West Ham United on April 3rd.
