Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that James McCarthy and Maarten Stekelenburg are both doubts for his side's trip to face champions Leicester City on Boxing Day.
McCarthy was forced off at half time of Monday night's Merseyside derby with Liverpool having picked up a hamstring injury, while Stekelenburg was replaced following a collision with teammate Leighton Baines.
Both players will be assessed today, but Koeman hinted that they could be unavailable for the visit to the King Power Stadium.
"James played well in the first 45 minutes, but he was not sure about his hamstring and we couldn't take that risk," Koeman told reporters.
"With the goalkeeper, it is always a difficult situation. We need to recover now. We've had a big, intensive game and we will prepare and see which players are available and, in particular, the fitness of both of those players."
Everton currently sit ninth in the Premier League table having won just two of their last 12 league outings.
