Everton manager Roberto Martinez has suggested that he will make a number of changes to his side for Wednesday's Capital One Cup tie with Stevenage.
The Toffees welcome the League One outfit to Goodison Park in the second round of the competition.
"It's important if we want to be successful over the course of a season that we have a strong squad - not just 11 or 12 players, but a squad of players who are ready to come in, show a moment of form and help the team to get results," Martinez told the club's official website.
"Making changes doesn't mean you don't respect the opposition - probably the opposite."
Everton reached the third round of last season's tournament before they were knocked out by Leeds United.
