Adrian denies Lukaku once again! The Belgian striker runs into the penalty after Barkley feeds the ball through to him, but his sliding shot is stopped by the West Ham keeper.

PENALTY SAVED! Adrian saves! Lukaku lines up to take the spot kick, but he fails to get it passed Adrian as his effort towards the bottom left corner is stopped by the Spaniard.

PENALTY TO EVERTON! The home side have the chance to take a 3-0 lead after the referee points to the spot following a foul by Song.

The visitors counter down the left-hand side and Lanzini earns a corner off Oviedo. Payet delivers the set piece, but it fails to trouble Robles.

West Ham opt for the long ball as they search for Carroll in the box. The striker manages to get a head to it, but as doing so he fouls Jagielka and the chance goes missing.

WEST HAM SUBS: Ah, just as I say that, Bilic makes two changesas Diafra Sakho replaces Emenike and Alex Song comes on for Obiang.

It's up to West Ham to respond now. They are 2-0 down to a side with just 10 men but they have struggled to break down their opponents. Perhaps a tactical change is in order.

Fantastic goal by Everton! The build-up play leaves West Ham on the backfoot as Lennon and Lukaku link up before the former latches on to his striker's return pass before sending the ball past Adrian.

Both sides are getting time on the ball and West Ham are showing signs of danger in the final third. As expected, Everton are dropping deep more often due to having just 10 men on the pitch, but they're still managing to get the ball up top.

Despite being a man down, Everton manage to put West Ham under pressure as the ball eventually falls to Besic, who passes out wide to Oviedo. The Everton man goes for goal, but his attempt is deflected wide off Kouyate. The resulting corner fails to trouble Adrian.

WIDE! That was close from Antonio! Payet takes the free kick and delivers the ball into the area. Antonio gets to it first, but his header drops inches wide of the left post.

Jagielka does well to stop Cresswell from whipping a cross into the danger area. The visitors get a corner, and while Everton initially clear, the ball falls to Lanzini, who wins a free kick after being fouled by Besic.

Everton begin the second half on the attack as Lukaku bursts from midfield and turns before trying to beat Kouyate. He gets a shot away, but Adrian collects comfortably.

EVERTON, WEST HAM SUBS: Both sides have made changes at the interval. Andy Carroll replaces Reece Oxford, while Muhamed Besic, who has not played in Everton's last seven games, comes on for John Stones with the idea of improving the midfield.

Everton head into the half-time interval with a 1-0 goal lead and a deserved one at that, but there's a sour note as they will have to finish the game with 10 men after Kevin Mirallas was sent off after two yellow cards. The Belgian was wrongly booked for simulation early in the first half, so Everton will feel hard done by. As for the goal, well it was scored by Romelu Lukaku, who has now scored eight goals in eight appearances against the Hammers. This one came in the 13th minute after latching onto Bryan Oviedo's pass. Overall, Everton have been the better side, but Slaven Bilic's team have shown threat on the counter-attack particularly with Dimitri Payet pulling the strings. We'll return for the second half shortly!

West Ham are handed a great opportunity on the edge of the area after a silly sliding tackle from Jagielka. Payet delivers from the set piece, but his attempt sails over the crossbar.

Everton have reverted to a back four in Mirallas's absence, meaning that Lennon is now placed on the left side of midfield and Coleman is on the right wing.

SAVE! A brilliant stop from Robles! Cresswell whips the ball into the box and finds Emenike, who, with his first touch, tries to flick the ball towards goal, but Robles is there to save on the line.

Emenike's cross into the box is collected by Robles in the air, but Antonio then smashes into the goalkeeper. The referee doesn't see it as a foul, though.

West Ham will be boosted by Mirallas's sending-off, even though it doesn't really change Everton's shape drastically. Regardless, having the extra man and just a one-goal deficit will give the visitors hope.

BOOKING! Emenike receives a yellow card for dragging back Barkley. Tempers are rising to the surface here!

RED CARD! Oh dear, everything was going well for Everton, but now they will have to finish the game with 10 men! Mirallas is sent off by the referee for a second bookable offence after a late challenge on Cresswell. Given that Mirallas's first yellow was harsh for simulation, it's a big blow to Everton.

Lanzini gets brought down by Coleman after a decent move down the left with Cresswell. Payet takes the free kick, and the ball bobbles around the penalty area before getting cleared by the home side.

West Ham get a throw-in and Antonio launches it into the danger area, but it's easy for Robles as he steps out to punch clear.

SAVE! Wow, what a stop from Adrian! Barkley's strike was destined for the inside of the near post, but the West Ham keeper manages to keep it out.

Everton have had the majority of possession and have caused the most danger in attacking areas, but West Ham have shown on the counter that they can pose a threat. The question is whether they can take the chances that come their way.

CLOSE! Oh dear, Emenike should have done much better! Everton lose the ball deep in their own half and West Ham take advantage as Cresswell whips the ball across the face of goal, leaving Emenike to just tap it in, but he fails to reach it.

Everton appeal for another penalty, this time because the ball seemed to strike Ogbonna's arm after the ball was crossed into the area by Lennon. It's not given and in fairness, it would have been harsh to award.

West Ham have an opportunity to create something from a free kick 30 yards out but Ogbonna's header off Payet's cross goes straight to Robles.

BOOKING! Mirallas is the first player to receive a yellow card in this game. The Belgian goes into the book for diving, but it looks like the winger was actually clipped by Kouyate.

He's done it again! Lukaku certainly enjoys scoring against West Ham! The Belgian gets on the end of Oviedo's pass before spinning away from Oviedo and sending a low left-footed strike, which bounces off the far post and into the net.

CHANCE! So close for Payet! West Ham manage to get some time on the ball and they make the most of it as Payet drills a low shot towards the bottom left corner after committing a surging run from midfield. The Frenchman's effort is just wide.

We're 10 minutes in and it's Everton who are on top at the moment. West Ham seem to be struggling with their opponents' new formation.

Everton should for a penalty as they believe that Stones's shirt was tugged by Oxford in the box during a corner kick, and even though replays show that he was, the referee waves away Everton's claims.

SAVE! Adrian prevents McCarthy from opening the scoring after he connected with the ball off a corner kick. The midfielder attempted a half-volley shot, but Adrian makes the stop.

CHANCE! Everton get the first opportunity of the game as Barkley plays the ball forward towards Lukaku, but Adrian times his run off the line well and gathers the ball before the striker can get a touch.

It's West Ham's turn as the ball is threaded through Everton's midfield and Lanzini ends up with it at his feet. He plays the ball out wide to Cresswell, but Coleman does week to knock it out of play.

Everton create the first attack of the game, but it's harmless to the Hammers as Coleman's low pass into the box is intercepted by the visitors.

If West Ham score first, it may not be the best thing for the Hammers! Opta stats reveal that the Hammers have opened the scoring in their last four head to heads in all competitions, but have not won the game. Romelu Lukaku seems to be a fan of this match-up as he has scored in all seven appearances against the club.

We're edging closer to kickoff, so let's have a look at some past meetings between the two sides. Well, the history books are in Everton's favour as they have won 10 and lost none of the last 15 league matches between the two. In fact, the Toffees enjoy playing against West Ham has they have beaten them 22 times in the league, which is more than they have defeated any other club.

Now, we've already mentioned the possible spending power of Everton this summer, but what about West Ham? If they finish the season in a European spot then they will be able to attract some more high-profile players. What about Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Well, the Paris Saint-Germain has been linked with a surprise move to the Hammers, but Bilic has calmed the speculation.

He wrote in the London Evening Standard: "I see we have been linked next season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Yes, we are ambitious and we are determined to progress. To be realistic, though, we are not yet a club who those kind of players would consider."

West Ham are unbeaten in their last three Premier League games, but on the road they have failed to replicate the form that they display at Upton Park. Bilic's men have secured victory in just one of their last nine away games and have drawn four and lost eight.

Someone else was very happy after the result and that was comedian and lifelong Hammers fan Russell Brand. He interviewed Bilic at the end of the game and even gave him a cheeky kiss! Watch the interview below.

Bilic was full of praise for his team after the match. He told BBC Sport: "We expected this atmosphere tonight - it is the game of the season for us. It is maybe our best performance. From the first minute we were on the front foot and dominant, tactically, technically and physically.

"Spurs concede the least goals and run the most so to out-play them is big and they should be happy it was just one goal they conceded. We changed the tactics with five at the back so we had wing backs chasing their runners and the system helped but how you play is more important. Our determination and togetherness was more important.

"We are not thinking about the top four. The gap might be small for those places but there is also a small gap between us and ninth place. We are going to continue to play like this and try to win every game."

Bilic was intelligent to play Antonio as a wing-back because many, including Spurs probably, thought that he was once again going to play him as a right-back. Instead, Bilic selected a back three and later brought on youngster Reece Oxford to do a job, which he handled well.

The former Croatia boss has some individual talent at his fingertips, including that of Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio, who has scored five goals in his last six games at Upton Park. West Ham showed their credentials in Wednesday's performance against Tottenham Hotspur, who are fighting for the Premier League title. They sealed a 1-0 win over the North London club and it was very much deserved.

Now, let's turn our attention to today's visitors. Who knew that by March, West Ham would be genuine contenders for the Champions League? I certainly didn't! They have been helped along by the poor campaigns of Chelsea and Manchester United, but let's not take anything away from Bilic and his side.

Another positive is that Aaron Lennon has scored in four of his last six league games and has never lost a top-flight game that he's scored in. The downside, though, is that the Toffees have only won four of their last 16 league matches at Goodison Park.

As mentioned, towards the end of 2015, things were not looking too rosy for Everton, but recently that have managed to keep four clean sheets in their last six games in all competitions and have netted 14 goals in that time. In fact, in three of their last four league games, Everton have scored three goals in each game - those came against Newcastle United, Stoke City and Aston Villa.

As for Stones, well, if you believe the papers, the centre-back has no shortage of admirers. It was well documented last summer that Chelsea tabled four bids for the defender, but Everton held firm, even though Stones reportedly lodged a transfer request. The Premier League's elite, including Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with Stones, as have Spanish giants Barcelona. It is unclear whether he will look elsewhere in the summer, but expect another transfer saga involving the England international!

It's not just Lukaku who Martinez will be desperate to keep hold of - Ross Barkley and John Stones should be added to that list. The duo are two of Everton's star players and both are regularly spoken highly of by Martinez. Barkley has previously been linked to Manchester City and those rumours could crop up again given that Pep Guardiola is due to take over at the Etihad Stadium in the summer.

Everton may find that they will be working just as hard to keep hold of their current stars this summer. Romelu Lukaku is one name that constantly pops up in the transfer gossip pages. The Belgian striker has been linked with Manchester United and he has been open about his desire to play Champions League football one day. Recently The Mirror reported that despite the new investment, Lukaku may try to force a move away from Goodison Park when the season comes to an end. It would be a huge blow to Everton as he has scored 22 goals this season, 17 of which have come in the Premier League.

Another transfer target that keeps cropping up where Everton are concerned is Andriy Yarmolenko, who plays for Dynamo Kiev. The Ukrainian has been linked with the Merseyside outfit for some time, and the player himself hinted earlier this month that he is open to moving to the Premier League club. He was quoted as saying that "it is better to play at Everton" than for Barcelona. That is sure to have pleased Martinez!

Begovic is believed to have attracted Everton's attention as Tim Howard could reportedly be returning to MLS in the United States. Rumours over his future have surfaced in recent weeks as he looks as though he has lost his role as number one to Joel Robles.

So who will Everton target? Well, let's be realistic, they won't be making moves for the Lionel Messis of the world but they will have the opportunity to be prominent players in this market unlike in the past. Recently the Toffees were linked to Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. The shot-stopper joined the Premier League champions in the summer as back-up to number one Thibaut Courtois. As expected, Begovic has not had much game time and when he has it's been when Courtois has been injured.

Now that the teams are sorted, let's delve a little deeper into the goings on at Everton. As you all know, the club were recently injected with new investment in the form of Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri. It has already been reported that Martinez will be given funds to spend on new players in the summer transfer window, and according to the Liverpool Echo, the new major shareholder has told Martinez that he can splash the cash!.

Michail Antonio, who scored the only goal against Spurs in mid-week, could operate as a wing-back once again, with Oxford, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell in defence. Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang are expected to marshall the midfield, with Cheikhou Kouyate, Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet providing attacking threat and service to Emmanuel Emenike.

As for West Ham, Slaven Bilic has also made just the one change as James Collins, who is expected to miss the next three games with injury, is replaced with 17-year-old Reece Oxford. It's a big job for the youngster to try to keep out the likes of Lukaku, Barkley and Lennon.

Kevin Mirallas keeps his place in attack and he, along with Aaron Lennon, will provide support to Romelu Lukaku, who is in goalscoring form as he has found the back of the net 17 times in the Premier League this season. Leighton Baines is handed a spot on the bench.

The big news for Everton is that John Stones has returned to the starting lineup following a spell on the sidelines with injury. Interestingly, the England international forms a back three with Phil Jagielka and Ramiro Funes Mori. It looks as though Bryan Oviedo and Seamus Coleman will play as wing-backs. Gareth Barry is the man to miss out, but he is on the bench this afternoon.

Many have been surprised by West Ham's bid for Champions League football. The most important thing when Slaven Bilic was appointed was to make sure that the club retained their top-flight status by the time they set up home in the Olympic Stadium in the summer of 2016. Well, Bilic has done a lot more than that! If the Hammers get a win this afternoon, they will certainly be putting pressure on the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Merseyside outfit had a difficult time towards from the turn of the year as they went four league games without a win, but they have since bounced back, winning three of their last five - the latest of which being a 3-1 over Aston Villa. Roberto Martinez's side have dropped back down into the bottom half of the table because of the clubs around them, but they could potentially return to the top 10 with a win today.
