Sam Allardyce: 'I'd consider any offer from Everton'

Sam Allardyce says that he would consider any offer from Everton, who are actively looking for a replacement for Ronald Koeman following his sacking last week.

Sam Allardyce has revealed that he would consider any offer from Everton, despite acknowledging that the Toffees may find it difficult to remain in the Premier League.

Last week, Everton sacked Ronald Koeman after a dismal start to the campaign, while interim boss David Unsworth has lost both of his games in charge.

Bookmakers continue to keep Allardyce at the top of the betting - despite his indicating that he had lost interest in football management when leaving Crystal Palace in May - and the former England boss has suggested that he is open to a return to the dugout.

The 63-year-old told beIN SPORTS: "Who knows? I'd have to consider that, if that phone call happens. There's no point in speculating at the moment, David Unsworth is in the chair.

"Joe [Royle] sat upstairs will have an opinion but at the moment it looks like it's really going to be tough for Everton to get out of that position.

"It's not that the lads are not trying but as a team collectively they can't get a clean sheet and as a team in possession they can't score a goal. Those are the two problems and if you resolve one you'll end up resolving the other and that starts with the clean sheets."

Everton currently sit in the relegation zone after a fifth defeat in seven was recorded against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
