Everton defender Ashley Williams has admitted that the club need a spell of momentum if they are to turn their season around.
The Toffees travel to Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday night with just one point in Group E and looking for their first win in Europe this season.
David Unsworth's side are also 18th in the Premier League and have only won two of their 10 league matches this term.
"We need wins and we need them fast," Welsh international Williams told reporters.
"We'll try and win the game [against Lyon] and after that we'll recover and we'll go against Watford and we'll try and win that.
"We'll continue to do that until we get a bit of momentum and confidence starts to build and then your season can start."
Everton's game against the Hornets at Goodison Park on Sunday is followed after the international break by a clash with fellow strugglers Crystal Palace.
