Everton defender Sylvain Distin has denied claims that he had a "fight" with a supporter following his side's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Distin was bemused by the frustrated reaction of the travelling Toffees fans at the final whistle and the Frenchman approached the area of Selhurst Park containing away supporters to speak with one individual.
He later took Twitter to explain his actions, writing: "I know my English isn't perfect but I found it funny how people try to twist my words.
"And for the record, I was speaking to one single person and he knows who he is as I spoke to him face to face.
"And then people wonder why players interact with the fans. This is why, Because people twist your word and a simple chat is turned into fight."
Everton, who have kept six clean sheets in 11 top-flight games this season, currently sit fifth in the Premier League table.
