Everton centre-back Sylvain Distin has revealed how pleased he was with his side's turnaround after half time in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
The Toffees came out strongly after the break and managed to overturn Leandro Bacuna's first-half effort, eventually claiming the points with a late Kevin Mirallas free kick.
"We were a bit cautious in the first half - maybe the Liverpool game was still in our minds," Sky Sports News quotes Distin as saying. "But second half we opened up a bit, began to play our game and everything went well.
"We had most of the ball in the first half and they hadn't been really dangerous so it was frustrating to concede the goal but it's part of football so you need to accept it and react.
"We had a little word in the dressing room at half-time - we knew it wasn't good enough. We came back with better intensity in the second half and you could see that."
Everton are currently fifth in the Premier League.
