Everton's Phil Jagielka disappointed with Chelsea defeat

Phil Jagielka admits that Everton should have at least taken a point against Chelsea in their final Premier League game of the season.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka has admitted his disappointment at his side's failure to win against Chelsea in what was manager David Moyes's last game in charge of the Toffees.

The Liverpool-based outfit went down 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to finish sixth in the Premier League this season.

"It's a feeling of disappointment because we did well enough to come away with something," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"We've had the final talk from the manager. We knew it was coming and it felt like an end of an era last week but we've been professional enough to put in a performance.

"We've always known we've had a decent squad of 15 or 16 and when we get one or two injuries or people off form we've struggled. A couple of people are retiring or coming to an end of contracts and it'll be an interesting summer to see who comes in."

Everton's Merseyside rivals Liverpool finished two points behind them in seventh.
