Everton manager Roberto Martinez has talked of his delight with the way Mason Holgate has started his career with the club.
The 18-year-old joined the Toffees from Barnsley during the summer transfer window having made his debut in League One in December, and Martinez has been impressed by how the youngster has adapted to life with the Premier League side.
Martinez told the club's website: "I always measure the personality of a young player when he starts his first week and it was terrific to see him walk into the dressing room and be able to be himself and train in the manner that he did.
"He's only 18, he's a very talented defender and I can see a fantastic future for him at Everton."
Everton return to Premier League action next weekend when they host defending champions Chelsea.
