Everton manager Roberto Martinez has praised his side after their 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Upton Park this afternoon.
Romelu Lukaku levelled the game after Manuel Lanzini had put the home side ahead, but Martinez was impressed with his team's defensive efforts.
"We allowed West Ham too much space for the first goal, but I was delighted with the way we responded. We kept West Ham very, very quiet in the second half," Martinez told BBC Sport.
"The performance was terrific in terms of having a winning mentality. I was just disappointed at the end that we couldn't find that bit of magic to get the three points."
The result means West Ham remain in fifth place in the Premier League table, with the Toffees three places back in eighth.
Everton are next in action when they welcome Aston Villa to Goodison Park, while West Ham travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur on November 22.
