David Moyes not getting carried away

David Moyes still thinks that his Champions League team is better than his current Everton side, due to the consistency they showed.

Everton manager David Moyes has refused to get carried away following his side's impressive start to the season.

The Toffees are second in the Premier League after six games, having only lost once.

The only other time that Everton started a Premier League campaign so well, they qualified for the Champions League.

However, Moyes thinks that only after a full season can a team be judged fairly and would place his 2004 team above his current crop.

"I would agree that we are in good form," he told Sky Sports News. "But I think the year that we got into the Champions League, that was probably my best team because of what they achieved week in week out.

"It's okay saying that we are in good form, but we've only played six games in the Premier League. We can talk about what the boys have done after 38 games.

"We're in form just now, let's see if they are consistent and keep it going all season."

Moyes takes his Everton side to Wigan Athletic tomorrow.
