Everton manager David Moyes has expressed his delight in midfielder Leon Osman's call-up to the England squad.
Osman could make his debut for England at the age of 31 next week after manager Roy Hodgson included him in his squad to face Sweden in an international friendly.
"That news went down with the players and staff as good as anyone that has gone before," Moyes told the club's official website.
"It was a pleasure to tell everyone that Ossie had been called up for England. His form this season has been such that he really deserves this. His consistency during my time here has been exceptional. He will take the ball and he will want to help England play."
Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has also been included in the national squad, despite only featuring in three games since his return from 17 months out through injuries.
