Everton picked up just their second Premier League win of the season courtesy of a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aston Villa this afternoon.

Phil Jagielka's powerful header put the hosts ahead on 18 minutes, before Romelu Lukaku doubled his side's advantage shortly after the half-time interval.

The game was put beyond Villa's reach on the 76-minute mark when Seamus Coleman added goal number three from close range.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed at Goodison Park.

EVERTON

Goal

Tim Howard: A quiet afternoon for the American stopper, who was needed on just a couple of occasions on what was a straightforward afternoon for his side. (6/10)

Defence

Seamus Coleman: Rewarded for his menacing runs with a goal 14 minutes from time. It is easy to forget on occasions that Coleman is in fact a full-back and not a winger. (8/10)

Phil Jagielka: A strong, powerful showing from the England international, who is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal at the moment. He now has three goals in his last five appearances for club and country, although it is his work at the back which earns him his recognition. (8/10)

Antonlin Alcaraz: Brought into the centre of defence to replaced the injured John Stones, Alcaraz was not tested nearly as much as he should have been by Villa's forward line. (7/10).

Leighton Baines: Another hugely-impressive showing from the left-back, who added another couple of assists to his collection this afternoon. Defenders cannot deal with his exceptional delivery. (8/10)

Midfield

James McCarthy: A brilliant challenge on Cleverley in the first half tells you all you need to know about McCarthy, who looked solid and composed in the Toffees engine room this afternoon. (7/10)

Gareth Barry: By no means a brilliant performance by Barry, although he managed to successfully complete all the simple tasks to help out his teammates. (7/10)

Leon Osman: The home side's liveliest player at times, Osman managed to get a few shots in at goal across the 90 minutes. Good all-round performance from the experienced midfielder. (7/10)

Steven Naismith: Received a standing ovation when he left the field late on due to his tireless running. The Scotland international can always be relied upon to put in a shift for his side. (8/10)

Ross Barkley: A welcome return to the Everton squad for Barkley, who looked as sharp as ever before being replaced. His link-up play with Lukaku - which included an assist for the second goal - is a key aspect of the Merseyside outfit's game. (8/10)

Attack

Romelu Lukaku: He never really got going in this game, yet still managed to bag himself a goal. More to come from the club-record signing, who has not yet matched the heights of last season. (7/10)

Substitutes

Steven Pienaar: Provided fresh legs for the hosts in the final quarter of the game, helping to keep hold of the ball. (7/10)

Samuel Eto'o: A short five-minute cameo from Eto'o, who did not really have any time on the field to make an impact. (5/10)

Darron Gibson: The midfielder was given even less time on the pitch, brought on in the final minute of play to help run the clock down. (5/10)

ASTON VILLA

Goal

Brad Guzan: Had a howler when conceding the second goal, allowing the ball to squirm under his body and into the back of the net. (4/10)

Defence

Alan Hutton: Arguably Villa's best performer this afternoon with his powerful runs down the right. Came close to bagging his first goal in four years, too. (7/10)

Ron Vlaar: Produced a couple of brilliant covering challenges, but struggled to cut out Baines's tricky balls into the box. (6/10)

Nathan Baker: Injury forced the centre-back off the pitch with just 24 minutes played. The Villans will hope that it is nothing too serious. (5/10)

Aly Cissokho: His attempted deliveries into the box were poor. He was also pegged back into his own half all too often. (5/10)

Midfield

Tom Cleverley: Did well to help Villa tick over, but he needs to stamp his authority onto the game a little more in order for his side to find their goalscoring touch. (7/10)

Ashley Westwood: Another player who sees a lot of his good work go unnoticed, but like his midfield partner, he needs to create more openings for his teammates. (6/10)

Charles N'Zogbia: Did not create any chances for his side, and although that is the case for the whole squad, he is under more pressure to help make a difference. (5/10)

Kieran Richarson: Another player who had little impact across the 90 minutes. More is needed from the former Manchester United man. (5/10)

Attack

Christian Benteke: The only real positive for the visitors to take away from this drab showing was the fact that Benteke played over 80 minutes on his return from injury. Found the net in the second half only to see it correctly ruled out. (6/10)

Gabriel Agbonlahor: The powerful striker has bagged seven goals against Everton in his career to date, but he did not look likely to extend that record at Goodison Park this afternoon. (5/10)

Substitutes

Ciaran Clark: Brought on in the first half to replace the injured Baker, Clark failed to deal with numerous crosses into the area. (5/10)

Andreas Weimann: Came close to pulling a goal back for his side, although he failed to get any true connection on his flicked header late on. (6/10)

Joe Cole: Given just 10 minutes to make an impression, in which time Everton were happy to play keep ball among themselves. (5/10)
