Everton have comfortably beaten Greek side AEK Athens in Tony Hibbert's testimonial match this evening.
The Toffees began the match in the perfect way, taking the lead through new signing Steven Naismith. However, Athens's Taxiarchis Fountas soon levelled the sides with a low shot.
Everton immediately responded by going back ahead, and it came through Naismith once again. This time he was found by Steven Pienaar's cross, and the unmarked Scot nodded home at the back post.
Hibbert was then denied by Dimitrios Konstantopoulos before Naismith completed his hat-trick from the resulting corner, reacting quickest to smash the ball into the net.
Hibbert then got his dream moment at the start of the second half as he lined up a free kick from 25 yards out. His drilled shot went under the wall and inside the post as the full-back celebrated scoring his first goal in 10 years at the club.
The goal prompted a pitch invasion by delighted Everton fans, who were soon cleared off the pitch to watch their side see out the 4-1 win.
