Everton have made it two wins from two on their pre-season trip to Scotland courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Dundee at Dens Park this evening.
The match was just two minutes old when the Toffees opened the scoring, with Conor McAleny finishing smartly with a low strike from the edge of the box to give his side the perfect start.
An otherwise bright first-half display for the visitors was dampened somewhat by Romelu Lukaku being forced off with what looked like a hamstring injury after just 32 minutes, but his replacement Kieran Dowell almost doubled Everton's lead with a low drive.
Dundee struck the woodwork themselves in the opening 45 minutes, but it was Roberto Martinez's side that looked the most likely throughout.
Indeed, their second goal arrived just before the hour mark when Ross Barkley was brought down inside the penalty area before picking himself up to dispatch the spot kick himself.
The Toffees proceeded to see out the match, with chances for either side few and far between in the final half an hour.
