Everton defender Sylvain Distin has expressed his delight after signing a new one-year deal with the club.
The Frenchman, whose contract was due to end this summer, put pen to paper on Friday.
"From my side there was never any issue and I said from day one that I wanted to stay," the 34-year-old told the club's official website.
"The club also made me understand that they wanted me to stay. I want to go as long as possible. I think you'll have to kick me out!"
Distin joined the Toffees from Portsmouth in 2009.
