Everton have announced that Argentina defender Ramiro Funes Mori has joined La Liga side Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from River Plate in September 2015 and made 67 appearances for the Toffees, scoring five goals.
Funes Mori missed the end of the 2016-17 season and most of the 2017-18 campaign with a serious knee injury, but returned towards the end of last term to make four appearances.
The Premier League club announced the transfer on their website, saying: "Ramiro Funes Mori has signed for Spanish side Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.
"The centre-back has penned a four-year deal to June 2022 with the club, who finished fifth in La Liga last season."
Funes Mori becomes Villarreal's third summer signing after Cameroon international Toko Ekambi and striker Gerard Moreno.
