James McCarthy to Everton?

James McCarthy is reportedly a target for Everton should they sell Marouane Fellaini.

Everton are lining up a potential bid for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy, according to the Daily Star.

Marouane Fellaini has been strongly linked with a move away this January, which would leave the Toffees short in the attacking midfield department.

As such, Everton have emerged as candidates to sign the sought-after McCarthy, although Arsenal have also been credited with an interest.

McCarthy has made 98 league appearances for Wigan since joining the club in the summer of 2009.
