Bryan Oviedo has claimed that Everton teammate Ross Barkley should be part of the England squad for this summer's World Cup.
The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed in the Premier League this season, scoring six goals to help the Toffees secure a fifth-placed finish in the table.
As Barkley and others wait for manager Roy Hodgson's squad announcement on May 12, Oviedo believes that the youngster should be involved for the Three Lions in Brazil.
"I hope he gets in," the Costa Rican told The Mirror. "He is working for that and we saw in the last game against Manchester City, he had a fantastic game.
"It would be good for him to go to the World Cup for the experience and because he is a very good player.
"To have a player like him is very good for England because sometimes you need a player who can come on and win games. I think Ross is a player like that."
Everton wrap up their Premier League campaign on Sunday with a trip to Hull City.
