Evian TG coach Pascal Dupraz has admitted that winning the Coupe de France would mean nothing unless his side can avoid relegation from Ligue 1.
Dupraz's side smashed Lorient 4-0 on Wednesday night to reach the final, but Dupraz said that he will only be happy if Evian move out of their current position in the bottom three.
"It's very satisfying but it's difficult to be completely happy because the Coupe de France isn't the club's main objective," Dupraz told Ligue1.com. "What we're after is Ligue 1 survival.
"It's hard to imagine asking our fans to go all the way to the Stade de France if we're not going to be a top-flight side next season. It shouldn't be a funeral procession, but a carnival that travels to Paris.
"The players have done a magnificent job to get us to the final, but I'll only be happy once we secure the right to play Ligue 1 football for a third season."
The final will take place on May 31.
