Evian Thonon Gaillard have enhanced their chances of survival in Ligue 1 with a 4-2 home win against Rennes.
The hosts went ahead after just two minutes as Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik put the ball inadvertently into his own goal.
Evian pressed on for their second goal of the evening but it was Rennes who were next to score at Parc des Sports, Jonathan Pitroipa releasing Julien Feret to shot home from close range with his left foot.
However, Evian regained their advantage in the 34th minute when Kevin Berigaud latched onto Mohammed Rabiu's headed pass and found the target from the right side of the visitors' box.
John Boye restored parity for Rennes in the 69th minute with a close-range header following Feret's corner.
Evian came back strongly thereafter and scored twice in four minutes.
First Milos Ninkovic shot home Yannick Sagbo's cross in the 79th minute and the latter himself then found the target with a header from close range.
