Sofiane Boufal converted an 81st-minute penalty as Lille secured a narrow 1-0 win away to Evian TG this evening.
A tight affair, it took the best part of half an hour for the game to throw up a goalscoring chance as Evian forward Modou Sougou saw his close-range shot saved by Vincent Enyeama.
The visitors gradually grew into the contest and went close three minutes before the break when Nolan Roux latched on to Djibril Sidibe's ball but fired wide.
Liverpool loanee Divock Origi missed for Lille on 57 minutes but after knocking for much of the second half, the visitors broke the deadlock in the final quarter.
Evian defender Daniel Wass brought down by second-half substitute Kevin Koubemba in the area, and Boufal stroked home the resulting penalty on 81 minutes to snatch the win.
