Saint-Etienne have continued their fine Ligue 1 form with a 2-1 win away to Evian TG.
The visitors got off to a strong start and had an opening inside three minutes, with Mevlut Erding heading just wide after a cross from Max Gradel.
However, they did not have to wait much longer to take the lead. Benjamin Corgnet was found also by Gradel, and he did not make a mistake with his low finish from close range.
Then on 15 minutes it was 2-0 for the visitors. Gradel, by far the best player to this point, whipped in a free kick for Loic Perrin to head low past Jesper Hansen.
Despite St Etienne's dominance in the first half, the hosts were right back in the game on 53 minutes through Daniel Wass, who fired the ball in high from the corner of the six-yard box.
Two late red cards for Youssouf Sabaly and Cedric Cambon did not help the hosts' cause as they were unable to get back on level terms.
