Wales and Falkirk midfielder Owain Tudur Jones has been forced to retire due to ongoing knee problems.

Tudur Jones has only been able to make five appearances for Falkirk since joining the club earlier this season.

"I have been advised by the knee specialist that it is in my best interests to retire from football due to a knee injury," Tudur Jones told BBC Sport.

"I would like to go on record to thank Falkirk FC, in particular [director] Ronnie Bateman, [manager] Peter Houston and club physio Kris Robertson for all of their help during this time and I wish them the very best as they chase a playoff spot and Scottish Cup success."

The 30-year-old, who represented Wales on seven occasions, played for 10 clubs in his career, including Hibernian, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Norwich City and Swansea City.
