FC Twente vs. Salzburg (Tuesday, 6.00pm)

Seeking a way back into the tie after losing last week's first leg, FC Twente host Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday, in the Champions League's third qualifying round.

Whichever side comes out on top at De Grolsch Veste will progress to the playoffs, leaving them just one step away from the competition's new-look group phase.

We say: FC Twente 1-2 Red Bull Salzburg (Red Bull Salzburg win 4-2 on aggregate)

Given their greater European experience, Salzburg should finish the job in Enschede: they can thrive on the counter-attack, cleverly picking off their goal-chasing hosts.

Fenerbahce vs. Lille (Tuesday, 6.00pm)

Leading by one goal from last week's first leg, Lille visit Turkish giants Fenerbahce at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Tuesday, as they conclude their Champions League qualifying tie.

Victory in France puts Les Dogues within touching distance of a place in the playoffs, where they would face either Union Saint-Gilloise or Slavia Prague.

We say: Fenerbahce 2-2 Lille (Lille win 4-3 on aggregate)

Both sides boast plenty of European experience and attacking flair, but the onus is on Fenerbahce to get back into the tie, so they may be caught out on the counter.

Lille have been a regular presence in UEFA group stages over the past five years, and they will stay on track for another appearance by narrowly reaching the playoffs.

APOEL vs. Slovan Bratislava (Tuesday, 6.00pm)

APOEL have a big job on their hands if they are to qualify for the playoff round of the 2024-25 Champions League, having suffered a 2-0 first-leg loss to Slovan Bratislava in the third qualifying round last week.

Bratislava's pressure eventually told in the latter stages, scoring twice in the final 20 minutes, and the Slovakian outfit are now the big favourites to progress to the next round of the competition on Tuesday night.

We say: APOEL 2-2 Slovan Bratislava (Slovan Bratislava win 4-2 on aggregate)

APOEL will have home advantage on Tuesday, which counts for a lot, but we are finding it very difficult to imagine this tie being turned around. Both teams have quality in the final third of the field, and we are expecting an entertaining draw, with Bratislava progressing to the playoff round of the Champions League.

Bodo/Glimt vs. Jagiellonia (Tuesday, 6.00pm)

Bodo/Glimt will be bidding to book their spot in the playoff round of the 2024-25 Champions League when they welcome Jagiellonia Bialystok to Norway on Tuesday night.

The home side have a narrow advantage to bring into the second leg, as they recorded a 1-0 victory when the two teams locked horns in Poland for the reverse match last week.

We say: Bodo/Glimt 2-1 Jagiellonia Bialystok (Bodo/Glimt win 3-1 on aggregate)

Jagiellonia Bialystok have a lot of quality and are certainly capable of turning the tie around, but we are finding it really difficult to back against Bodo/Glimt. It should be a very tight second leg, but the hosts have enough experience to navigate their way into the playoff round of the competition.

PAOK vs. Malmo (Tuesday, 6.30pm)

PAOK will be hoping that home advantage can help them secure a spot in the playoff round of the 2024-25 Champions League at Malmo's expense on Tuesday night.

The third qualifying round clash is delicately poised following a 2-2 draw in the first leg last week, and the two sides will lock horns once again to determine which team progresses to the next round.

We say: PAOK 1-2 Malmo (Malmo win 4-3 on aggregate)

This is a really tough match to call, and it would not be a surprise to see it go all the way to penalties. Malmo have so much talent in the final third of the field, though, and we are backing the Swedish outfit to secure a narrow win and book their spot in the playoff stage of the Champions League.

Ludogorets vs. Qarabag (Tuesday, 7.00pm)

Aiming to finish the job on home turf, Ludogorets Razgrad welcome Qarabag FK to Bulgaria on Tuesday evening, for the second leg of their Champions League third-round qualifier.

A place in the playoffs - where Dinamo Zagreb will await - is the prize at stake for both teams, but Ludogorets lead by one goal after last week's first leg.

We say: Ludogorets Razgrad 2-2 Qarabag FK (Qarabag FK win 4-3 on aggregate)

Not only do Qarabag have a precious lead to defend in Razgrad, but they can also benefit from years of accrued European experience. Ludogorets are certainly no newcomers to UEFA competition, but they may have to make do with a consolation place in the Europa League.

Ferencvaros vs. Midtjylland (Tuesday, 7.00pm)

Needing to pull off a captivating home comeback to keep their Champions League dream alive, Ferencvaros host Danish giants FC Midtjylland in Budapest on Tuesday evening.

The Hungarian powerhouses fell to a 2-0 loss in the first leg of their qualifying third-round battle, and failure to turn the tide in their favour will see them relegated to the Europa League.

We say: Ferencvaros 0-1 FC Midtjylland (Midtjylland win 3-0 on aggregate)

While Ferencvaros simply have to go gung-ho in order to stand a chance of progression, they will come up against a Midtjylland defence that has proven impenetrable over the summer, and gaps will inevitably open up for the Danes to exploit.

Thomasberg's troops should make at least one of those opportunities count to advance to the final stage of qualifying, as Ferencvaros accept their Europa League fate.

Union SG vs. Slavia Prague (Tuesday, 7.30pm)

Six days on from an entertaining four-goal first leg, Union SG and Slavia Prague cross paths once again for the return fixture in their Champions League qualifying third-round battle on Tuesday.

The Belgian outfit host their Czech foes at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium after falling to a 3-1 defeat last week, although a late own goal has given the hosts a slice of hope.

We say: Union SG 1-2 Slavia Prague (Slavia Prague win 5-2 on aggregate)

As Slavia Prague pack more of an attacking punch and can be sure to capitalise on Union SG's defensive shortcomings, the Czech outfit ought to successfully fight fire with fire in Belgium.

Goals should be a guarantee in an intriguing second leg, but if the hosts have not learned their aerial lessons, a stunning comeback will be off the cards.

FCSB vs. Sparta Prague (Tuesday, 7.30pm)

Following a tightly-fought and bad-tempered first leg in the third round of Champions League qualifying, FCSB and Sparta Prague reconvene for the return match at the Steaua Stadium in Bucharest on Tuesday night.

The two league phase hopefuls played out a 1-1 stalemate on Czech soil last week, where this week's visitors to Romania were forced to do it the hard way.

We say: FCSB 0-2 Sparta Prague (Sparta Prague win 3-1 on aggregate)

FCSB's first-leg showing demonstrated that the Romanians can be a tough nut to crack, but with Dawa banned and fresh injury concerns in attack, the hosts will struggle to replicate their first-leg display.

Coming up against foes who have not suffered a competitive defeat in almost five months, Charalampous's side should fall short on home soil, as Sparta Prague edge closer to the coveted league phase.

Rangers vs. Dynamo Kiev (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

A last-gasp goal in Poland leaves a fascinating Champions League qualifying tie between Rangers and Dynamo Kiev in the balance, before the teams reconvene for Tuesday's second leg.

Due to redevelopments at Ibrox, the crucial clash will take place at historic Hampden Park, with a place in the playoffs at stake.

We say: Rangers 0-1 Dynamo Kiev (Dynamo Kiev win 2-1 on aggregate)

Rangers were unconvincing despite posting an overdue win on Saturday, and a disjointed team could consider themselves lucky to leave Poland on level terms last week.

As Dynamo are in better form and can call upon several experienced campaigners, they may snatch aggregate victory and progress to the playoffs.
