FC Twente bounced back from their first Eredivisie defeat of the season to beat Heerenveen 2-0 this evening.
Second-half goals from Rasmus Bengtsson and Youness Mokhtar in Enschede earned the hosts a victory which takes them above their opponents to fourth in the table.
Having lost at Excelsior last weekend to end a nine-match unbeaten run since the start of the campaign, Twente seemed devoid of confidence in the first half and struggled to create chances.
However, they came out recharged after the interval and Heerenveen could only hold on to parity until the 67th minute, when Robbert Schilder's delivery provided centre-back Bengtsson with his first of the season.
Mokhtar doubled Twente's advantage five minutes later to secure the points for his side and stretch Heerenveen's winless run to four games, with the visitors having lost much of their early-season momentum.
