Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts made their way into Monday's draw for the quarter-finals of the William Hill Scottish Cup after last-16 victories on Sunday.

Scott Sinclair banging in the goals

The Hoops winger was on top form again as he scored a hat-trick in Celtic's 5-0 win over St Johnstone at Parkhead.

It was the former Aston Villa player's 11th goal in 11 games and also his second hat-trick of the season and took his tally to 16 as Brendan Rodgers' men continue on their quest for the domestic treble-treble.

St Mirren continue their struggle

St Mirren crashed out of the William Hill Scottish Cup with a 2-1 defeat by Championship side Dundee United in Paisley on Saturday.

Oran Kearney's side are sitting at the bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership, three points behind fellow strugglers Dundee.

The Buddies boss refurbished his squad extensively in the January transfer window but they have now  lost five games in a row and there looks no end to their troubles.

Penalties keep coming Rangers way

Rangers have had six penalties awarded to them in their last three matches.

James Tavernier missed and scored from the spot last week in the 4-0 Ladbrokes Premiership win against St Mirren at Ibrox and scored in the 4-2 win against Aberdeen at Pittodrie in midweek.

The Light Blues were awarded another spot-kick in the William Hill Scottish Cup tie against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday.

This time Tavernier saw his effort saved by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann as the match ended in a goalless draw with the replay at Ibrox on Wednesday week.

Eddie May finishes his caretaker stint at Hibernian on a high

Hibernian's head of academy has been caretaker boss at the club since the departure of Neil Lennon last month.

The Easter Road outfit are now set to announce the Northern Irishman's successor.

May has won two matches and lost two during his time in charge, but the 3-1 win over Raith Rovers on Sunday ensured a place in the William Hill Scottish Cup quarter-finals and will have the club on a high for the new manager.

No cup fairytale for Auchinleck Talbot

The Ayrshire Junior side travelled to Tynecastle for their last-16 clash with Hearts looking to cause an even bigger William Hill Scottish Cup upset than they did in the previous round when they beat Championship outfit Ayr.

However, the Ladbrokes Premiership outfit were ready and waiting and had too much for their opponents.

Goals from captain Christophe Berra, Demetri Mitchell and Steven MacLean, plus Aidan Keena's first goal in maroon, gave the home side a comfortable passage into the quarter-final draw on Monday.
