Fenerbahce have dismissed speculation that they are keen to cash in on Robin van Persie during the January transfer window.
Recent reports had claimed that the Turkish outfit were keen to sign Brazilian frontman Fred to replace Van Persie, who only arrived in Istanbul in the summer from Manchester United.
However, this afternoon the club have released a statement insisting that Van Persie remains a "precious player" at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
"The news [is] aiming to break our player Van Persie's motivation," it read.
"We do not plan to sell Van Persie and he does not want to leave. He is a precious player of the squad and he will keep serving our team."
Van Persie has completed 90 minutes just twice in a Fenerbahce shirt.
