Former Arsenal and Barcelona left-back Giovanni van Bronckhorst will become the new head coach of Feyenoord this summer.
The 40-year-old, who started and ended his playing career with the Eredivisie outfit, is currently the assistant to Fred Rutten at De Kuip.
However, having recently confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season, Rutten will be replaced by his deputy.
"[The appointment] fills me with pride and I am extremely grateful for the confidence that Feyenoord has placed in me," he told the club's official website.
"As an assistant coach, I learned a lot from both Ronald Koeman and Fred Rutten."
Van Bronckhorst will be assisted by Jean-Paul van Gastel.
