Feyenoord welcome Willem II to De Kuip on Saturday looking to return to winning ways having failed to win any of their last two outings.

Meanwhile, the away side make the journey to Rotterdam this weekend aiming to avoid a 10th consecutive away defeat across all competitions.

Match preview

Feyenoord fell to a 3-2 defeat in their heavyweight meeting against league leaders Ajax at the Johan Cruyff ArenA a fortnight ago.

Arne Slot's men led 2-1 at half time thanks to Luis Sinisterra and Guus Til, but the game was turned on its head after the restart through strikes from Dusan Tadic and Antony.

De Stadionclub have now fallen 11 points behind in the race to be crowned champions, and their title challenge is all but over with seven matches left to play.

Lying in store next is the challenge of a Willem II side who have lost each of the last five meetings between the teams by a combined score of 16-1.

With a Conference League first-leg clash against Slavia Prague to follow, Saturday's hosts set out to pick up a morale-boosting victory to help set the tone for their continental commitment.

Willem II played out a second consecutive stalemate on home turf as they held AZ Alkmaar to a 2-2 draw at the Konig Willem II Stadion on March 20.

Kevin Hofland's men raced into a two-goal lead early on thanks to goals from Che Nunnely and Elton Kabangu before Bruno Martins Indi and Zakaria Aboukhlal restored parity with strikes in either half.

The Tricolores remain one place and one point above the relegation zone having played more games than their nearest two challengers.

Saturday's visitors have managed just eight points from a possible 39 away from home with their last victory on the road coming back in September.

Team News

Justin Bijlow remains sidelined with a foot injury which has seen him miss the last four games, meaning that Ofir Marciano is set to continue in goal.

This weekend's hosts will also be without the services of Philippe Sandler, who is yet to make his Feyenoord debut due to a thigh injury.

Bryan Linssen has had to make do with second-half cameos in four straight matches, but we expect the forward to feature right from the off this time around.

Wesley Spieringhs is ruled out for Willem II through a knee injury, and the 20-year-old is joined on the treatment table by Thijs Oosting.

Still in search of a first victory since taking over from Fred Grim, Kevin Hofland is expected to make some alterations to his starting XI from last time out.

Feyenoord possible starting lineup:
Marciano; Malacia, Senesi, Trauner, Geertruida; Aursnes, Toornstra; Sinisterra, Til, Nelson; Linssen

Willem II possible starting lineup:
Wellenreuther; Owusu, Dammers, Kohn, Kohlert; Saddiki, Heerkens, Crowley; Nunnely, Hornkamp, Kabungu

We say: Feyenoord 2-0 Willem II

Feyenoord will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat as they take on a Willem II side struggling at both ends of the pitch. We tip the home side to emerge triumphant in a what should be a relatively comfortable win.
