A Feyenoord own goal has seen the high-flying Rotterdam side slip to only a second defeat of the season with a 1-0 loss to ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie.
The hosts were winless in their previous nine matches but they started out of the blocks the fastest and had the first chance when top scorer Mike Havenaar was found by Aaron Meijers but just could not convert his first-time effort.
Feyenoord created their first clear opportunity after a quarter of an hour when Eljero Elia fed Simon Gustafson but the Swedish midfielder was denied by Martin Hansen.
Havenaar had another chance when he could only shoot wide after being played in by Danny Bakker, before Terence Kongolo wasted a golden opportunity for the visitors when he headed over from close range following a corner.
Den Haag started the second half well and threatened within three minutes when Havenaar hit the bar, and with just over 20 minutes laeft they took the lead when Sven van Beek inadvertantly turned the ball past his own goalkeeper.
The hosts were left facing a nervy finish when Eduoard Duplan was sent off with minutes remaining, but they held on to win for the first time since August 15 and inflict only a second defeat of the season on Feyenoord.
