Two goals in the final 10 minutes saw Feyenoord eventually limp past 10-man Dordrecht this evening.
The Eredivisie's bottom club were holding their own until Marvin Peersman's 72nd-minute dismissal, but Jens Toornstra and Tonny Vilhena secured the hosts a 2-0 win.
Dordrecht packed 10 men behind the ball at De Kuip and were willing to sacrifice 75% possession of the ball.
While they did not have a shot on target themselves, the underdogs were frustrating Feyenoord effectively prior to a moment of recklessness from Peersman.
It still appeared as if though Dordrecht may hang on, but Colin Kazim-Richards set up Toornstra for a heart-wrenching 86th-minute goal.
Vilhena secured Feyenoord the points four minutes into injury time as the hosts climbed to third in the table.
