Feyenoord have been held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Heerenveen in their Eredivisie match at De Kuip Stadion this evening.
The visitors had a good chance in the opening five minutes when Luciano Slagveer was left unmarked in the Feyenoord box, but the striker could only slice the ball wide.
Hakim Ziyech also came close as Heerenveen continued to create the majority of the chances in the first half, but he also failed to test Erwin Mulder.
Mitchell te Vrede had the best chance in the opening 45 minutes for the home side, but his powerful shot was comfortably stopped by Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
There were chances at both ends early in the second half, but both Slagveer and Te Vrede curled their efforts wide.
Heerenveen were dealt a blow on the hour mark when Joey van den Berg picked up his second yellow card of the match after sliding into Ruben Schaken.
Despite being a man down, the visitors managed to break the deadlock seven minutes after the red card as Ziyech curled a free kick beyond Mulder into the top corner.
The lead was short-lived though, as it took Feyenoord just three minutes to find the equaliser, with Te Vrede heading in from close range from a Boetius delivery.
Boetius tried to set up a winner for the hosts inside the final 10 minutes, but Tonny Vilhena could only head wide from close range, ensuring that the sides finished level.
