Fleetwood Town are leading Northampton Town 1-0 at half time in today's League Two clash at the Highbury Stadium.
The game had a high-tempo feel to it in the opening stages, as Fleetwood's Alex Marrow went into the book within the first three minutes after a late tackle on Leon McSweeney.
The home side was dominant in the early stages, with Steven Schumacher particularly dangerous for the Cod Army. Cobblers goalkeeper Matt Duke was able to thwart the 29-year-old's efforts in the first 10 minutes, though.
Fleetwood eventually broke the deadlock midway through the first half. Winger Gareth Evans was played through by Schumacher, and he calmly finished the job by slotting the ball beyond Duke.
Jamille Matt squandered a good chance to double Town's advantage with 10 minutes of the first half to go, but his header from a pinpoint Jon Parkin cross missed the target.
