Greuther Furth remain rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga table after losing 1-0 to Fortuna Dusseldorf away from home this afternoon.
Axel Bellinghausen scored the only goal of the game at the Esprit Arena to help his side climb up to 12th in the standings for the moment.
Dusseldorf could have taken the lead as early as the third minute when they were awarded a penalty.
Matthias Zimmermann brought down Robbie Kruse inside his own area, but Dani Schahin saw his spot kick saved by Wolfgang Hesl.
However, Bellinghausen made amends for his teammate on 18 minutes when he shot home from close range.
Things went from bad to worse for Furth on 38 minutes when Jozsef Varga was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Dusseldorf created a number of chances in the second half to make it a more comfortable victory, but had to settle for a 1-0 win in the end.
